At last! My huge League of Legends haul is finally here! Unfortunately, I might have gone slightly crazy and splurged a bit on these models/figures (I didn’t know I would later become obsessed with My Little Pony plushies too!).
Unfortunately, a LOT of my models/figures were damaged during transit due to the terrible packaging done by the Taobao agent I used this time. I decided to give them a go because I had read good reviews about them, but safe to say, this will be my LAST time using them. Despite me warning them the models/figures are fragile and need to be packed carefully in boxes with padding (like how my usual agent does it!), they still packed them in plastic bags and squeezed them tightly together. It’s no wonder that most of the dolls were completely squashed/sustained broken arms/legs/neck…. 😥
I’m still quite upset, because I had to wait for several weeks for the figures/models to be made for me, and I had customised each of them to my liking… and now most of them are ruined 😦 I’ve tried to get a full refund ($200USD) for the damaged models, but the agent was very unhelpful and only offered me 50CNY (=$8USD) refund! What a joke right?! And I paid extra for insurance because they told me I should in case my models got damaged… what was the point in that?! Grrrrr – the agent said ridiculous things like:
“Since it is make of polymer clay, can it be squeezed back?”
“But there are no parts missing, just disconnected.
Could you please try to glue them?”
WTF?! Did she just seriously say that?! o.O What a douche!
Argh! I’ve already filed for a credit card chargeback so hopefully I’ll get my $200USD back soon. This is not including the 10% service fee I had to pay too! as well as the extra shipping costs :<
The terribad agent is called Yoybuy! DON’T USE THEM! They may seem competent, professional and user-friendly initially – but wait until you receive your goods broken into multiple pieces inside plastic bags stuffed in an old, damp and tattered cardboard box, and then the agent declining to refund you because “nothing was missing, parts were just ‘disconnected’, you can glue together again, right?”.
A quick search revealed multiple negative reviews for this agent, with consumers complaining of similar experiences to mine.
Anyway, enough ranting – here are the models that managed to escape with a few bruises 😦
First of all, here are more chibi clay figures of some of my favourite LOL champions to add to my small army. Again, I am including the corresponding champion splash art + in-game model for reference.
And remember my previous post about the limited handcrafted Pulsefire Ezreal model? Well, I ended up buying one for myself! (even though I’m not a HUGE Ezreal fan). He stands about 25cm tall and was released to commemorate the 2013 League of Legends All-star Tournament at Shanghai.
And lastly – this was supposed to be my big reveal! The polymer clay models of Miss Fortune and Bilgewater Katarina which I commissioned!!! I blogged about them a few posts back when I received their pre-shipment pictures from the artist. Well… Katarina didn’t survive the journey – her neck and left leg broke. Miss Fortune magically survived. She stands about 22cm tall 🙂
So that’s all the pain my wallet has had to endure this time round! 🙂 I don’t know when I’ll be able to buy more League of Legends figures because my wallet is currently on strike after my HUGE My Little Pony plushies splurge!. Though I’ll still keep an eye out for any new model releases. I’m still waiting on a few more LOL commissions – one is a Road Warrior Miss Fortune figurine and the other is the amigurumi dolls of Road Warrior Miss Fortune, Lux and Arctic Warfare Caitlyn.

I have seen a quite lot of bad review of Yoybuy before and I’m so sorry for your experience. Try Taobaospree http://taobaospree.com/ next time. Heard that they’re good~

Ah yes, I have tried Taobaospree before 🙂 but I think they were super busy so Susan directed me to a friend of hers called Helen, and now I deal with Helen usually. I wanted to try Yoybuy because of their ‘live chat’ feature. Helen usually only checks her emals once a day but otherwise she’s been fantastic!

Ahh I’m so sorry you had to experience that with Yoybuy :[ :[ :[ that is so awful, and I can’t believe their nerve!!
In happier news, your haul looks incredible!! Congrats on the ones that did survive – really amazing craftsmanship.
