Update (5/5/14): I have since commissioned KairiGurl for Cadence + Shining Armour (price quote was $780USD) and had paid 30% deposit. It took her more than 9 months to complete it and I barely got any updates. In the end, I told her to keep my 30% deposit and cancelled my commission. I won’t be commissioning her in the future, and I don’t recommend her to anyone else either.
I still feel dizzy and lightheaded from waking up too fast to welcome the arrival of my Fluttershy plushie! She’s the most expensive plush of the bunch (because I had to win her from a bidding war on Ebay).
I wanted this Flutter Shy plushie extremely badly because she’s the ONLY Flutter Shy plushie I’ve seen that actually captures her essence of shyness & sweetness well. I love how she’s peering up timidly like a shy little mousie.
She was packed really nicely and carefully in a large box, and it looks like she had a smooth and easy transit from her home in the US to her new home in New Zealand 😀 😀
She stands 15″ tall and is made completely from minky. It is clear that a lot of love, precision and care has been put in to craft this beautiful plushie – the stitching, embroidery and overall handiwork are meticulous and there are absolutely no loose threads.
Also, I love how show accurate this plushie’s colour scheme is! (please note, my budget phone camera couldn’t capture her colours accurately – the mane/tail colour is actually lighter and more powder pink than pictured; the body is a more deeper yellow shade, and the eyes are a lighter blue-green hue). A lot of Fluttershy plushies have the wrong mane/tail/body/eye colours – one common mistake is her eye colour, which is supposed to be a ‘mountain meadow’ blue-greenish colour (just like my Fluttershy plushie #1), yet many popular artists make her eyes blue.
I also love how this plushie looks great from all angles! Her mane is so well done, and she doesn’t look ‘bald’ from the back view like most Fluttershy plushies. She also looks fantastic from the front 😀 (a lot of pony plushies look very funny from the front).
And this is only KairiGurl’s second ever pony plushie! Can you believe it?! I’m so glad I managed to adopt a pony plushie from her whilst she’s still new to the pony plushie scene because at this rate, she’ll be the most sought after pony plushie artist in no time :). She’ll be accepting commissions soon so I’m most likely going to try and see if I can grab another plushie from her. Exciting stuff! Now to decide who to commission… hmm… maybe French/Beatnik Rarity?! 😀
