We only discovered we had a swan plant in our front yard about a month ago when we noticed a monarch butterfly loitering around.  Much to our surprise, this is what we saw today when we checked again –

Quite a few had already grown big enough to become a chrysalis - like this one!

I used to keep monarch caterpillars as pets.  Hehe, this brings back so much good childhood memories ^-^  I also used to keep silkworms as pets when I lived in Taiwan.  But I reckon monarch caterpillars are waaaaayyyyy cuter!  (and the monarch butterflies waaaaaayyyy prettier!)
